Hi Clif -

Thanks for the feedback.

The Airport is in transition this year, particularly in the area of budget management.

Agreed: we do need to work on more consistent instructions to volunteers.

Hi Folks,

I would like to clarify something.

As Lisa points out I was going to donate the spout and I told Little Piggy
that. She said no, I should submit my receipts. Not only that but she said I
had to show her the pump receipts which of course were already online. I
started to feel that the whole pump thing was being tracked at a new level and
I thought ok I'll follow through with that.

It's not that I cared that much about it either way. Little piggy basically
grilled me for awhile about all this, and impressed upon me that things were
done differently now and that I should submit the receipts. So I did. If left
up to my own devices I would have just paid the airport fee like I have been
doing and forgot about it.

I think a lot of the problem from my perspective as a volunteer is getting
inconsistent instructions from different people that say they are in charge or
in some line of command. I have been doing a lot of volunteer work for BM for
over a decade and have had to deal with thousands of dollars of transactions
and have been yelled at before for not doing things correctly. Now I don't like
being scolded for following the procedure as instructed but I can understand
that the airport is in transition and that not everyone is on the same page
yet.

It also feels like the airport has a problem acknowledging and sometimes even
accepting volunteer contributions either in-kind or monetary. I know the pump
is not an official airport project but to the average volunteer it's all just
airport stuff, and they feel they are donating to different parts of the
airport or to the airport in general. So I feel that suggesting that the extra
money is ours to do with as we choose is somewhat inappropriate.

I don't think it's a problem with the other volunteers, we all appreciate each
others contributions and some have thanked me for fixing the pump which I also
appreciate. Though I think the airport management has a ways to go in terms of
volunteer relations.

I have made a good faith effort in trying to follow a changing procedure. I
think the airport management should also make an effort to be more consistent.

        Thanks for listening,
        Clif

The Airport did not ask for donations for a fuel pump in 2008 or a replacement nozzle/spout this year.

These purchases, and the money raised to make them, happened outside Airport authorization and budget.

As we cannot reimburse you for the spout, we are returning your check. Perhaps you can offset your spout expense.

I hope the matter is now closed.

Terry,

Did you see this message below? Those checks represent money from other people
makeing donations to the airport. It's not our money. If the airport is asking
for donations then it dosn't make a lot of sense to send back money that's not
ours that was intended for the airport. ;-)

Ah,

you must be thinking that the pump hose that Kurt bought was part of what he
sold you, it's not. Which is why I didn't include that $43.58.

It's better to ask if there is something you don't understand.
