Devon,

This is a very good question. We are encouraging individuals
and the groups they camp with within ATL (pods as we call them) to be
self sufficient. Because of limited volunteer availability, time and
financial support we are unable to build and maintain many common
structures this year such as a communal evap pond or communal kitchen
space.

This email list exists to help you connect with your fellow
camp members. Please use it to reach out others in order to collaborate
on projects like a shared evap pond. I know there are at least two
individuals who are building their own mini-pond. If you are interested
in helping them build something larger as a shared resource please let
the list know and perhaps you can all work together to make something.

The water delivery team that deals with water sales and grey water
disposal had a reservation online and via Jack Rabbit Speaks announced
months ago that everyone should reserve by the end of July their
water/waste needs. The service is now over capacity, over booked and
they have halted reservations. Demand has been so high they had to
announce that they will refuse flag down service on playa by camps or
individuals without an existing reservation.

There are some common
resources we are planning though. You have the option of having access
to electricity from the 25,000 watt generator which will be powering
camp. While we are asking that you pay for use of power to help cover
the rental and fuel expense it is a modest fee. Also, we will have a
common area which shall be large enclosed space intended for camp
members and not the public. This will be a place we can gather for
meals, hide from dust storms, get warm, relax, and have meetings.

ATL,

I was wondering if we had come
to a consensus on our grey water/shower evaporation situation? Will we
have a collective camp system, or are we going to have to provide
individual systems for ourselves if we so choose?

I know much has
changed since last year, and I just want to be clear on what to expect
and what to bring.

See you in the dust!
