rebar is critical for securing structures on the playa. As I’m sure you
already know from memorizing our camp FAQ <a

, there’s a section on securing your structures http://www.burningman.com/preparation/event_survival/securing.html
that is required reading for anyone with a structure other than a car, RV, or
trailer. During take-down last year, we had the dubious distinction of setting
the record for Costco Barn flying – ¼ mile. While it can be humorous to watch
a tent blow downrange until it’s caught on something – think along the lines of
Dorothy’s house in the twister – we’d prefer not to have that happen in our own
camp this year. For Costco barns, that means a minimum of four pieces of rebar
per barn, each of which is attached to the barn via a ratchet strap.

the rental and fuel expense it is a modest fee. Also, we will have a common

public. This will be a place we can gather for meals, hide from dust storms,
get warm, relax, and have meetings.
