[Teahouse] Tea House Is Online

Dear Tea House Friends,

The Saraswati Tea House is now online! We got access to several wifi networks here in our camp which means that we no longer have to hike into the Network Operations Center at Center Camp for wifi. Cell service continues to work, but will no doubt be overloaded very shortly. 

Many theme camp participants came in through the gate last night and early this morning, including several members of our own camp Above The Limit (ATL) which now numbers about twenty people. We are expecting another forty campers in the next 24 hours.

We had our first camp meeting this morning and reviewed the progress made here with the Tea House and the Crystal Cavern spaces. The Tea House and other structures are mostly complete. We are tired from five days of build, but we have one more day of adding signage, lights, entryways, tea tables, decor and fine tuning our common areas. 

Please stop by ATL when you arrive in Black Rock City and come say hello. The Tea House is located right on A between 9:15 and 9:30. We'll be here working on the Tea House all day today and tonight to get it ready to open this evening. 

We are still looking for donations of sheets and blankets, floor pillows, simple snacks, items for our altar, and especially rugs, even small throw rugs, that we can use around the edges of our larger rugs in the Tea House. If you have a few old rugs you wish to donate, please consider loaning them to the Tea House for the duration of the Burn. A few extra wash basins would also be appreciated. 

Many thanks to those who have signed up for Tea House shifts. I will be posting a Tea House shift schedule on line this evening and a hard copy version will be posted at our Tea HQ common area behind the Tea House. Look for my Travel Ease RV with a low tea table outside. We will have a Tea House meeting in this space every morning at 9:30 am so please come join us for tea, to review the day's schedule, and to receive training for Tea House service. Official Tea House trainings will also take place in this space from 4:00 to 6:30 pm on Monday and Tuesday.
