[Computer-go] Congratulations to Zen!

Pachi2 is doing very well on KGS, currently ranked 3d same with Erica. I think it can be a stable 3d even with long time setting. Pachi2 performs over 5 million simulations for each move. I think the distributed parallelization boosts Pachi2 at least 200-300 Elo. It is an impressive improvement for me.

How are you doing the MPI state exchanges between nodes?

Do you have any scaling data giving ELO gains by number of cores or nodes?

  Nick,

the number of cores per machine for pachi2 is correct in your report, but the number of

machines is missing. Pachi2 was running with 64 machines of 20 cores each

after the 4th round. It is currently running on kgs in this configuration with a 4d rank

for the moment. We'll see how the rank stabilises (it was just ranked today).

Congratulations to Zen, undefeated winner of yesterday's KGS bot tournament!

  My report is at http://www.weddslist.com/kgs/past/67/index.html

As usual, I welcome your comments and corrections. My report says little about the actual games; most of the programs are several stones stronger than me, and I have nothing constructive to say.
