Hello,
I am a newbie computer-go newbie. My program is very week and uses
alpha-beta with a tiny qsearch. After implementing minimal GTP code
required for playing
on CGOS server, I tried to use the scripts provided there but so far no
success..
Using gogui I was able to play against it, but I could not manage to match
my program against
gnugo. I am a windows user type of guy who have problems when it comes to
using scripts.
My other problem is with implementation of 'byo-yomi time' . I am not
familiar with this time
control before. From my understanding there is an initial main time set
where an engine can
make as many moves at it wants. So does that mean if I make moves faster at
that stage I get
extra time or not ? What I implemented currently is just make (boardisze /
4) i.e half you your total
moves in that time control and the remaining in byo-yomi mode. Doe that
sound reasonable ?
thanks in advance
Daniel
