[Computer-go] KGS Scoring against Humans

Hi All
As far as I understand the documentation for kgsGtp, we should mark
dead stones correctly after the first two passes, but if play
continues, then the cleanup phase starts and we should treat all
stones as alive. The problem comes in when we play against humans: if
they make a mistake marking dead stones, or disagree, they have to
remove all the dead stones, but they don't seem to like doing that and
often just escape.
Are we dealing with the scoring correctly? Is there any way to make
the experience better for the humans?
