Yes, I interacted with Frank (electronically) many years ago, and he has medical problems that result in his lashing out. It is clear that it still happens from time to time, perhaps with less frequency, but not with much less intensity, so I fully understand your position. But that was not my direct concern. I just wanted to know if folks used it and were content with the results after turning off the safety software. I worry about opening up a PC to attacks, enough so that while a friend was willing to download the software onto her PC so I could try it, I told her not to because her PhD thesis in the making is on that machine. I know that Frank is more than smart enough to include mal-ware in his programs if he wished to, but I don't think that he did so. I just worry about leaving doors open for others.
Most of my concerns are based on the fact that I am a Mac guy who sometimes buys a PC for a particular piece of Go software like this one, and every time so far the PC is attacked in short order. Again, my concern is that I turn off features of virus protection software and leave a hole that can be exploited.
Cheers,
David
